More than 330 officers graduated from the U.S. Army Command and General Staff Officer Course, class 2014-02, Dec. 12 at the Lewis and Clark Center’s Eisenhower Auditorium. The graduating class included mid-career officers from all American armed forces as well as 47 international officers and one civilian from a U.S. government agency. Air Force Lt. Gen. James M. Lt. Gen. Robert B. Brown addresses Leavenworth, Lansing and Platte City community members at the town hall listening session for the Supplemental Programmatic Environmental Assessment (SPEA) Dec. 11 at the Riverfront Community Center. Representatives from the surrounding communities including the Greater Kansas metro area discussed the impacts of potential cuts to the Army due to sequestration.

The U.S. Army School of Advanced Military Studies (SAMS) conducted graduation on December 4 in the Eisenhower Auditorium of the Lewis and Clark Center. The school graduated 33 officers, including 12 international officers from four other countries. All graduates receive the Master of Military Art and Science Degree (MMAS). The MMAS is awarded by the Command and General Staff College based on students successfully completing SAMS curriculum, passing an oral comprehensive exam, and successfully completing an extensive monograph based on original research.
