Members of the Kansas City Chiefs visited Fort Leavenworth 30 April to conduct a NFL Play 60 event with students from USD 207. The NFL Play 60 program was created to encourage kids to be active for 60 minutes per day. Following the Play 60, Chiefs Linebacker Derrick Johnson (56), Chase Daniel (10), and Tyler Bray (9) met with Soldiers and Families of Fort Leavenworth. KC Wolf and Chiefs Cheerleaders were also in attendance. (US Army Photo by Heath Steele).

Brig. Gen. Joseph Martin, Deputy Commanding General-Training, Combined Arms Center, presents the American flag to Veronica Stoneback, daughter of 2nd Lt. Verne Gibb, during an interment ceremony at Fort Leavenworth National Cemetery, Apr. 23. 2nd Lt. Gibb’s C-47 aircraft crashed during a flight from Burma to India, Oct. 24, 1945 and he was classified as missing in action until his remains were discovered in Burma.

The month of April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month and marks the release of CAC and Fort Leavenworth's very first Quarterly Sexual Harassment / Assault Response and Prevention Newsletter. All Soldiers, Civilians, and Family Members have a responsibility to be proactive when it comes to preventing sexual harassment and assault both on and off duty.

BG Martin receives CAC-T Charter from Combined Arms Center Commanding General Lt. Gen. Robert B. Brown presents the Combined Arms Center - Training Charter to the new CAC-T Deputy Commanding General Brig. Gen. Joseph M. Martin. Martin's Assumption of Responsibility ceremony took place on March 21 at the Frontier Conference Center, Fort Leavenworth, Kan. Martin leads an organization that manages training support and training development to enable the Army to train and educate versatile units and develop agile and adaptive leaders. Maj. Gen. Adolfo Dominguez Martinez, Commander of National Training Center, Secretary of National Defense Secretariat of Mexico (SEDENA) presents a gift on behalf of his government and military to Kirby Brown, Deputy to the Commanding General, Combined Arms Center, following a day of discussions and briefings focused on leader development, education and training. Lt Col Glenn Mosher, who served as translator for the visit, stands by to provide assistance. The Mar 11 visit allowed the Mexican contingent to gain an appreciation of the process of doctrine development combined with lessons learned to assist in the education continuum focused on future leaders.
