The 31 Students of the Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention (SHARP) Baseline Certification Course sing the Army song at the conclusion of their graduation ceremony March 6, in Grant Auditorium of the Combined Arms Center headquarters building on Fort Leavenworth. Mr. Kirby Brown, Deputy to the Commanding General of the Combined Arms Center, officiated the event and gave a keynote address. During the address, Mr. Brown told the students, “You are the face of compassion” for those who have been impacted by incidents of Sexual Assault/Harassment.

Combined Arms Center Chief of Staff, Col. Monty Willoughby, discusses the roles and responsibilities of CAC with a delegation from Laos, led by Col. Dr. Keosouvanh Inthavongsa, Deputy Commandant of the National Defense Academy. The eight-person delegation came to Fort Leavenworth as part of a visit to the United States for an orientation tour of professional military education institutions that will be attended by Lao military members. Areas of interest include: Command and General Staff College, medical training, logistics, defense industry, and English language training.

James Illingworth (Left) are here as part of a 200 Soldier contingent from the UK participating in the Eagle Owl joint staff exercise along with U.S. soldiers from Army University’s Command and General Staff College.

Some of the Army’s most senior leaders converged on Fort Leavenworth along with Captains from throughout the Army for the 2015 Captain Solarium Feb, 26. The Solarium is a monumental effort to inform and shape the future direction of the U.S. Army. The CPTs analyzed topics of importance to the Army and provided solutions directly to the CSA that address challenges embodied in the AOC. In attendance were (L-R) Lt. Gen. Robert B. Brown, commander of the U.S. Army Combined Arms Center; Sgt. Major of the Army Daniel A. Dailey; Gen. Raymond T. Odierno, Army chief of staff; Gen. David G. Perkins, commander of U.S Army Training and Doctrine Command; and Cmd. Sgt. Major David S. Davenport.

Gen. Raymond T. Odierno, the Army chief of staff, and Sgt. Maj. of the Army Daniel A. Dailey speak with students of the Sexual Harassment and Assault Response Program’s (SHARP) Baseline Certification Course at the SHARP Academy at Fort Leavenworth Feb 26. For both members of the Army’s most senior command team, this visit was their first since the Army relocated the baseline course at the U.S. Army Combined Arms Center, Fort Leavenworth in October 2014. Mr. Kirby R. Brown, Deputy to the Commanding General of the U.S. Army Combined Arms Center at Fort Leavenworth, welcomes 100 Captains to Solarium 2015, an Army chief of staff (CSA) initiative. The Solarium is a monumental effort to inform and shape the future direction of the U.S. Army. This effort brings together 100 senior captains from across the Army - active, reserve and guard - to identify issues that address challenges embodied in the Army Operating Concept (AOC): Win in a Complex World 2020-2040. They will analyze and provide recommended solutions directly to the CSA that address challenges embodied in the AOC.

Mr. Kirby R. Brown, Deputy to the Commanding General of the U.S. Army Combined Arms Center, presents a certificate of training to Debra A. Robinson during the graduation ceremony 20 February for the Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention (SHARP) Baseline Certification Course. Ms. Robinson is one of 32 graduates who completed the 7-week course and will now serve the Army as Sexual Assault Response Coordinators (SARC) and Victim Advocates.

Ms. Debra S. Wada, Assistant Secretary of the Army (Manpower & Reserve Affairs) received an overview briefing from the leadership of the Combined Arms Center at Fort Leavenworth on Jan 22. Ms. Wada serves as the Army's point person for policy and performance oversight of human resources (military, civilian and contractor), training, readiness, mobilization, military health affairs, force structure, manpower management, equal opportunity, equal employment opportunity and other critical matters as part of the Army leadership.
