IO Qualification Course (RC)
CDID HomeIO Qualification Course (RC)

DESCRIPTION
The Information Operations Qualification Course (IOQC) Reserve Component (RC) is a 9 month, 2 phase course taught by the National Guard Information Operations School, 3-124th Information Operations (IO) Battalion, Vermont Army National Guard. Phase 1 is 415 hours of study including 28 four-hour synchronous class periods (UTAs) held once per week over an FOUO approved collaborative meeting system with fellow students and instructors. Students can expect a workload similar to an online master’s degree program including asynchronous learning activities, presentations, papers, readings, practical exercises, and tests. Phase 1 requires a significant time commitment beyond the 96 hours of collaborative online learning. Phase 2 is a 15 day (13 days of instruction plus 2 travel days) resident exercise held at the Regional Readiness Training Center collocated with Norwich University in Northfield, VT.
PREREQUISITES
U.S. Army Reserve or Army National Guard commissioned officer; CPT through COL, assigned or pending assignment to a validated Information Operations position. Students must have a current passing APFT and meet height/weight requirements IAW AR 600-9. Students must be ATRRS enrolled in Phase 1 in order to submit an application for phase 2.
BILLETING
The student will secure hotel reservations within driving distance of the Regional Readiness Training Institute Center, 161 University Drive, Northfield, VT. Due to increased demand during tourist seasons that typically coincide with resident courses and challenges associated with weather and travel conditions, the Course Director will secure a block reservation at a hotel designated in the Welcome Letter; students must then contact the hotel directly to secure their reservation using their individual government credit card. After hours commercial internet access will be required to maintain participation in the course. There are physical fitness facilities available for student use at the RRTC and for a small fee on the University campus.
ENROLLMENT PROCEDURES
All phases can be found in ATRRS under the respective school code and course number. Phase 1 must be completed before attending phase 2. Any student who is unable to attend the first available Phase 2 in sequential order must attend the next available iteration or risk having to repeat all of phase 1.
