19-16 - Commander and Staff Guide to the Battlefield Coordination Detachment Handbook

This handbook is designed to inform Army leaders of the BCD's functions, roles, and capabilities, along with best practices and lessons from numerous exercises, experiments, and named operations. These insights should prove invaluable to all Army leaders, newly assigned BCD personnel, and organizations that work with BCDs.

19-18: Commander and Staff Guide to Rehearsals A No-Fail Approach Handbook

This handbook provides a cohesive instructional manual on rehearsals; it incorporates doctrine and best practices to mitigate unit challenges in executing rehearsals at all levels, while also acknowledging that the basic tenets of rehearsals have not changed. U.S. forces operate in a complex operating environment of cyber, multinational, and multi-domain players. This environment increases operational complexity, thus necessitating timely and effective rehearsals to optimize these capabilities and increase the likelihood of success.

19-19 - Multi-Domain Operations Catalog

The Multi-Domain Operations Catalog provides links to useful products with insights and perspectives related to the emerging concept of multi-domain operations (MDO). This catalog is not all encompassing, but rather serves as a primer and vehicle to promote analytical discourse. This catalog is a "living" document and is intended to be updated periodically. MDO documents in this catalog span the period from 2014 to 2019, highlighting the evolution of the MDO concept and the beginning of its operational application by the Army.

20-01 - Corps and Division Planner’s Guide to Reconstitution Operations

This handbook serves as an aid to corps- and division-level staffs as they plan and prepare to conduct reconstitution operations. It provides insights into challenges the staff will face when planning reconstitution operations, outlines responsibilities of key individuals throughout the process, and finally provides planning considerations to facilitate an all-encompassing reconstitution plan.

20-02 - U.S. Army South Transition to a Multinational Force Headquarters (PANAMAX 18)

Operation FUTURO NOBLE (PANAMAX 2018) is a U.S. Southern Command-sponsored, combatant commander exercise. The exercise scenario focused on a multinational response under a United Nations Security Council resolution to counter security threats to the Panama Canal and surrounding region. This book also addresses the transition of U.S. Army South to a combined joint task force headquarters named Multinational Force South.

20-06: How to Master Wargaming

This handbook focuses on three items: First, how to improve and develop the cognitive skill of visualizing, a key component to COA analysis (wargaming); second, improving the methods and conduct of action, reaction, and counteraction adjudication of COA analysis with off-the-shelf wargames; and third, thoughts on training the staff. COA analysis is similar to any collective skill, and is perishable if not continually trained and rehearsed.

20-09 - Army Combat Fitness Test (Version 2)

The Army Combat Fitness Test is the means to validate a Soldier and unit’s physical readiness training; it shows how effective this training is in preparing Soldiers for the combat tasks they have to perform. This publication supplements the Army’s physical testing doctrine for the initial operation capability period, Fiscal Year 20, 01 October 2019 to 30 September 2020. The principal audience is leaders at all organizational levels.

20-12: Commander and Staff Guide to Multinational Interoperability

This guide addresses three key areas to improved multinational interoperability: introducing a common understanding of interoperability; exploring a framework encompassing the human, procedural, and technical domain solutions to improved interoperability; and showing how leaders can integrate "planning for interoperability" within the operations process.

20-16: Defense of the Cajun Bayou

This book is an effort to reach units prior to their arrival in Louisiana by giving them realistic scenarios to think about while following the Cajun Brigade through the planning and execution of a defense. While reading, take note of the guidance the brigade commander provides his staff. Watch the staff focus on achieving the commander’s guidance through its planning sessions. Study how the staff primaries take an active role in their struggle to understand and apply that guidance. Empathize with them as they do it all under the duress and tyranny of time.

20-568 - FY20 Mission Command Training in Large-Scale Combat Operations - Mission Command Training Program (MCTP) Key Observations

The information in this bulletin is a snapshot of the Army conducting large-scale combat operations. MCTP’s observations are primarily written by a collaborative group of experienced officers, noncommissioned officers, and chief warrant officers working in conjunction with highly qualified expert-senior mentors. MCTP uses several avenues to facilitate shared understanding of Warfighter Exercise (WFX) experiences to educate not just those units preparing for WFXs, but the total Army. Beginning in FY21, the MCTP WFX key observations will be published semiannually by CALL.
