Maj. Thomas Root, (Center of picture) a student of the Command and General Staff Officers Course, briefed the Commanders of TRADOC, (Gen. David G. Perkins); CAC (Lt. Gen. Robert B. Brown); and the Mission Command Center of Excellence (Brig Gen. Willard M. Burleson III) on the Army Operating Concept during the first Majors Colloquium held at Fort Leavenworth's Lewis and Clark Center. The 84 Army Majors at the Colloquium were provided the opportunity to recommend solutions to some of the Army's most difficult challenges directly to Army Senior Leaders. The key topics discussed included: training, Mission Command, talent management, diversity, education, and the Army Operating Concept. The briefing was the culmination of a five-month process.

Some of the Army’s most senior leaders converged on Fort Leavenworth along with Captains from throughout the Army for the 2015 Captain Solarium Feb, 26. The Solarium is a monumental effort to inform and shape the future direction of the U.S. Army. The CPTs analyzed topics of importance to the Army and provided solutions directly to the CSA that address challenges embodied in the AOC. In attendance were (L-R) Lt. Gen. Robert B. Brown, commander of the U.S. Army Combined Arms Center; Sgt. Major of the Army Daniel A. Dailey; Gen. Raymond T. Odierno, Army chief of staff; Gen. David G. Perkins, commander of U.S Army Training and Doctrine Command; and Cmd. Sgt. Major David S. Davenport.

The Center for Army Leadership held the Army Leader Exchange (ALx) Panel, "Leadership Through A Changing Environment" with special emphasis on branding, on Jan. 27, 2015 in Marshall Auditorium of the Lewis and Clark Center. Guest speakers were Dr. Neeli Bendapudi, Dean of University of Kansas Business School; Maj. Gen. Jimmie O. Keenan, Deputy Commanding General (Operations) U.S. Army Medical Command and Chief, Army Nursing Corps; Mr. Matt Whiat, Truly Human Leadership; and Mr. Mark Donovan, President of the Kansas City Chiefs.
