James Benn, Deputy Director of the Combined Arms Doctrine Directorate (CADD) speaks with 50 doctrine developers from the Colombian Army during a recent Doctrine Subject Matter Expert (SME) Exchange with the Colombian Army. From 15-26 May 2017, CADD SMEs assisted 50 doctrine developers from the Colombian Army in Bogota to finalize their Army Doctrine Reference Publications (Manuales Referencia Fundamentales del Ejército). These documents are scheduled to be published during the Colombian Army birthday celebration on 7 August 2017. Based upon the US - Colombian Army Bilateral Staff Talks this year, one of the agreed-to-actions committed the U.S. to assist the Colombian Army in the transformation of their doctrine program adopting the U.S. Army doctrine hierarchy of publications and aligning portions of their doctrine principles with U.S. and NATO information.
