Members of the 82nd Airborne Division recently participated in the Army Joint Support Team’s Joint Air-Ground Integration Center (JAGIC) training at Hurlburt Field, Fla. Sixteen Soldiers improved their processes, procedures, and battle drills using digitally enhanced decision-making techniques.

Officers and NCOs from across the Mission Command Center of Excellence hit the field on Fort Leavenworth for a train-the-trainer session on the Army Combat Fitness Test. This session gave leaders the opportunity to participate in the five new events and learn proper techniques for performing each task. Future and currently serving brigade and battalion commanders and their command sergeants major took the opportunity to pick up CALL handbooks and newsletters and also learn how to order more copies online.

Col. Michael Ernst, TRADOC Capability Manager-Mission Command/Command Post, congratulates Spc. Rebecca Garza, TCM-MC/CP military analyst, after awarding her the Army Commendation Medal Sept. 4. As part of the same ceremony, Ernst also promoted Garza from specialist to sergeant. Garza received the ARCOM for attaining honor graduate from her recent Basic Leader Course. BLC is a month-long course that teaches specialists and corporals the basic skills to lead small groups of Soldiers and prepares them to advance to the rank of sergeant.

Participants in the inaugural Industry-Based Broadening Information Operations Seminar met with Red Hat representatives, an open source technology company in Raleigh, N.C., as part of the program’s efforts to better understand communications in the private sector Aug. 12. MCCoE’s Force Modernization Proponent Center, working with Center for Army Leadership and HQDA, partnered with the Institute for Defense and Business and the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill to develop this three-week seminar designed for high-performing officers that specialize in operations in the information environment. The seminar introduces personnel to the fundamentals of strategic communication in the private and public sectors and offers them an opportunity to experience information operations from an industry/commercial perspective. The intent is to provide commanders with professionals who have a broader perspective and can gain an advantage in the information environment.
