Directorate of Training's Mission Command Digital Master Gunner Course Manager Robert Mayhew discusses participation in the new elective “Operationalize Mission Command for S3s and XOs” with a Command and General Staff College student January 22 at the Lewis and Clark Center. During a “round robin” type event, prospective students met with instructors for elective courses and learned about course objectives and requirements. Students who choose “Operationalize Mission Command for S3s and XOs” will learn to analyze the common operational picture to identify and correct gaps to better visualize and describe the battlespace and tactical situation for the commander. 10th Mountain Division Artillery Commander Col. Jason T. Williams presents a certificate of achievement to Army Joint Support Team’s Lt. Col. John Sandor in thanks for AJST’s support in conducting Specialized Joint Air-Ground Integration Training Jan. 14-17 at Hurlburt Field, Fla. During the 4-day training event, Soldiers and Airmen from the division and 20th Air Support Operations Squadron worked on processes, procedures, and battle drills in a Theater Battle Management Core Systems/Army Battle Command System-capable training lab. This offsite training venue is a proven method for developing division staffs in planning and executing the JAGIC technique.

Soldiers and Airmen from the 1st Infantry Division Joint Air-Ground Integration Center conducted training Jan. 7-11 with the Army Joint Support Team at Hurlburt Field, Fla. Training focused on executing processes, procedures, and battle drills using digitally enhanced decision-making techniques. The Theater Battle Management Core Systems and Army Battle Command System-capable training lab gave students the opportunity to hone systems integration training; develop standard operating procedures and tactics, techniques, and procedures; and improve system operator performance. This offsite training venue is a proven method for developing division staffs in planning and executing the JAGIC technique.

Mission Command Center of Excellence's Director of Training Col. Scott Nauman leads discussion during the first biannual Mission Command Forum Jan. 9 at Fort Leavenworth, Kan. The forum focused on combat training center trends, observations, and ways to improve support to training audiences at the CTCs. These concerns will inform MCCoE’s doctrine, organization, training, materiel, leadership, personnel, facilities, and policy stakeholders. Attendees included representatives from U.S. Army Forces Command, the CTCs, and others from the U.S. Army Combined Arms Center enterprise.

Mission Command Center of Excellence Director Maj. Gen. Douglas Crissman and Senior Enlisted Advisor Sgt. Maj. Christopher Prosser present the Superior Civilian Service Award to retiring MCCoE Chief of Operations Peter B. Benoit, Jr., at a ceremony at the Frontier Conference Center Dec. 19. Benoit officially retires Dec. 25 after more than 30 years of federal service with his last two years as the MCCoE CHOPS.

Mission Command Center of Excellence welcomed Brigadier Angus Watson, head of Warfare Development, British Army, and members of his team for an annual information and collaborative exchange between counterparts. During their visit, Brig Watson shared an overview of the Land Warfare Centre with directors and representatives from MCCoE subordinate organizations.
