Peter Im, assistant professor, Command and General Staff College Information Advantage Scholars Program, describes the inspiring life of Young-Oak Kim, during the U.S. Army Combined Arms Center and Fort Leavenworth Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month commemoration May 25, 2022, Marshall Auditorium, Lewis and Clark Center, Fort Leavenworth. Kim, a U.S. Army officer who served in both WWII and the Korean War, would later becoming a renowned civic leader and humanitarian, shepherding causes that brought together disparate Asian American communities, before his death in 2005.
