Chief Warrant Officer 3 Eddie Goode, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 2-2 Assault Helicopter Battalion, discusses isolated Soldier training in the Korean Theater of Operations as part of a Personnel Recovery Officer Qualification Course (PRO-QC) held this month at Eighth Army Headquarters and Camp Humphreys, Korea. A mobile training team from the Personnel Recovery Proponent, Force Modernization Proponent Center, is training Soldiers to serve as personnel recovery officers assigned to units from battalion through division. These Soldiers will support efforts to plan for the execution of personnel recovery in support of Eighth Army’s “Fight Tonight” mission. During the week, students learned the principles of lessons learned and program management, use of the Joint Lessons Learned Information System, and how to access other useful lessons learned resources. Center for Army Lessons Learned Analyst Tim Wilson discusses course objectives and requirements with a prospective Command and General Staff College student January 22 at the Lewis and Clark Center. During a “round robin” type event, students met with instructors for elective courses and learned about course objectives and requirements. This event helps students determine what courses will best meet their needs for both personal and professional development. The CALL elective, A344 “Army Lessons Learned for S3s and XOs,” is open to U.S. students and teaches participants how to use the lessons learned program to improve performance in their units.

During a “round robin” type event, prospective students met with instructors for elective courses and learned about course objectives and requirements. Students who choose “Operationalize Mission Command for S3s and XOs” will learn to analyze the common operational picture to identify and correct gaps to better visualize and describe the battlespace and tactical situation for the commander. Soldiers and Airmen from the 1st Infantry Division Joint Air-Ground Integration Center conducted training Jan. 7-11 with the Army Joint Support Team at Hurlburt Field, Fla. Training focused on executing processes, procedures, and battle drills using digitally enhanced decision-making techniques. The Theater Battle Management Core Systems and Army Battle Command System-capable training lab gave students the opportunity to hone systems integration training; develop standard operating procedures and tactics, techniques, and procedures; and improve system operator performance. This offsite training venue is a proven method for developing division staffs in planning and executing the JAGIC technique.
