The Combined Arms Center, in a collaborative effort led by the Combined Arms Doctrine Directorate and supported by the Army Training Support Center, Mobile Learning Division and the Enterprise Multimedia Center, released its first doctrine audiobook as part of a pilot program to assess use of the medium for Army doctrine. The first publication produced as an audiobook is Field Manual 3-0, Operations, a manual that marked the shift in the Army’s focus towards large-scale combat operations when published in October 2017. Lt. Gen. Michael D. Lundy, commanding general of the US Army Combined Arms Center, provides guidance on the proper technique for cutting the Army Birthday Cake with a Saber to Pfc. Jonathan Videz of HHC, 705th Military Police Battalion while CAC Command Sergeant Major Eric C. Dostie assists. As the youngest Soldier in the command, Videz had the honor of cutting the cake to celebrate the 244th Birthday of the US Army. Eight Fort Leavenworth Soldiers also reenlisted as part of the ceremony.

Combined Arms Center Chief of Staff Col. Tom Bolen, British Army liaison officer Col. Peter Little, French Army liaison officer Col. Olivier-Pierre Marchand and Canadian Army liaison officer Lt. Col. Stephen Gallagher represented the allied forces involved in the June 6, 1944 D-Day invasion in Normandy France during a ceremony at the Eisenhower Presidential Library, Museum and Boyhood Home in Abilene Kansas on June 6, 2019 for the 75th D-Day Commemoration. An estimated 70 World War II veterans attended the events at the library. Dwight D. Eisenhower later became the 34th president of the United States, but during WW II he was Gen. Lt. Gen. Michael D. Lundy hosted a Proclamation Signing ceremony April 1 to kick off CAC and Fort Leavenworth's Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month, or SAAPM. "An integral responsibility of commanders is to set the conditions that enforce Army standards to prevent and report sexual offenses when they occur. I expect leaders and Soldiers at all levels to be involved in the prevention of and elimination of sexual assault in our ranks," Lundy said. Lt. Gen. Lundy's comments resonate with this year's SAAPM theme of "I Ask," which sends the message that asking for consent is a normal and necessary part of interactions that helps to prevent sexual assaults from happening in the first place. For people to simply say, "I Ask" shows an understanding of the most basic communication step in avoiding sexual assaults: obtaining consent. While the focus of SAAPM is always on victims and awareness, this year's theme endeavors to prevent assaults and build on the core Army Value of respect.
