The Greatest Crusade - 75th D-Day Commemoration

Combined Arms Center Chief of Staff Col. Tom Bolen, British Army liaison officer Col. Peter Little, French Army liaison officer Col. Olivier-Pierre Marchand and Canadian Army liaison officer Lt. Col. Stephen Gallagher represented the allied forces involved in the June 6, 1944 D-Day invasion in Normandy France during a ceremony at the Eisenhower Presidential Library, Museum and Boyhood Home in Abilene Kansas on June 6, 2019 for the 75th D-Day Commemoration. An estimated 70 World War II veterans attended the events at the library. Dwight D. Eisenhower later became the 34th president of the United States, but during WW II he was Gen. Eisenhower, the Supreme Allied Commander who planned and led the invasion. Photos by Tisha Swart-Entwistle, Combined Arms Center public Affairs.
