Army Software Factory noncommissioned officers marked a milestone in their careers as they became Software Operations warrant officers, graduating from Warrant Officer Candidate School at Fort Rucker, Ala., June 10. The 280A Software Operations Technician is the Army’s newest functional area.

On March 10, 2026, the U.S. Army Combined Arms Doctrine Directorate released a cinematic adaptation of Field Manual 1, The Army: A Primer to Our Profession of Arms. The video is available on YouTube on the CADD (@USACADD) channel.

Leaders at the Combined Arms Command are integrating the use of the Maven Smart System, an artificial intelligence tool, to modernize training and education for command-and-control operations. Initial efforts are underway, led by staff from the Mission Command Center of Excellence, instructors with the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, and officers assigned to the CAC Command Data and Analytics Office.
