Leadership Research Assessment and Doctrine Division (LRADD)

The LRADD is a multidisciplinary team of evidence-based practitioners (behavioral scientists, doctrine experts, and a data scientist) who serve as the Army’s only resource for quick-turn applied leadership studies, assessments, leadership/leader development products, solutions, and data-driven answers.

Assessment Operations Division (AOD)

The “professionals of practice” in AOD: 
  • Facilitate execution of Career Long Assessments: Athena across all cohorts/branches/schools for Active Component Professional Military Education and Civilian Education System.
  • Lead expansion efforts of Career Long Assessments: Athena into Army National Guard and Army Reserve components. 
  • Provide training, guidance, and support products for all courses and assessment batteries across the Army.
  • Provide coaching, support, and problem-solving for all course managers, small group leaders, and instructors from across the Army. 
  • Support the integration of developed assessments into programs of instruction for all components. 
  • Facilitate unit operational assessments and feedback. 

Army Leader Development Division (ALDD)

The ALDD team promulgates Army profession and leader development initiatives and products across all cohorts and domains by:
  • Delivering support to operational units through mobile or virtual training and leader professional development sessions on request.
  • Scheduling and executing speaking engagements that inform the force about the services CAL can and does provide.
  • Producing lesson plans, videos, learning products, classes and workshops, and other tools that support CAL’s mission.
  • Providing quality assurance and accreditation support to TRADOC. 
  • Informing our customers through web and social media postings.
