command and provide general or direct support to divisions and brigades.
• The higher headquarters usually reinforces the sustainment brigade with several different
modular sustainment elements as required.
• A sustainment brigade’s only organic unit is its brigade troops battalion (BTB). This
battalion provides command and control for assigned and attached personnel and units. It
directs sustainment operations for the brigade headquarters.
