CSM Vanessa E. Sun enlisted into the United States Army in 1998, completing Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Jackson, SC graduating as a Human Resources Specialist (42A). In her 26 years of military service, she has served in various positions from Brigade S1 Noncommissioned Officer in Charge to the 369 Adjutant General Command Sergeant Major.
CSM Sun’s previous assignments include 300th Military Police Battalion S1 Clerk, 47th Forward Support Battalion S1 NCOIC, 3-13th Infantry Battalion Senior Drill Sergeant, USAREUR G1 Platoon Sergeant, AFNORTH First Sergeant, 45th Sustainment Brigade S1 NCOIC, 259th Human Resources Company First Sergeant, Equal Opportunity Program Manager, 32nd Army Air and Missile Defense Command G1 Sergeant Major, 4ID G1 Sergeant Major, and 369 AG BN CSM. She is currently serving as the Garrison Command Sergeant Major at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.
CSM Sun’s combat tours include OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM, and CMRE Afghanistan.
