IO Qualification Course (IOQC) DESCRIPTION The Information Operations Qualification Course (IOQC) is a 12-week, 480-hour resident course that consists of graduate-level education designed to produce qualified Information Operations (IO) and Military Deception (MILDEC) operators. Students receive instruction on the integration and synchronization of information-related capabilities (IRCs). The IOQC focuses on producing IO and MILDEC officers with the requisite operational skills and knowledge to prevail in a multi-domain fight during Large Scale Combat Operations (LSCO) with emphasis on tactics, targeting and the operational process. Students learn to integrate IO within the Military Decision Making Process by leading IO Working Groups, creating written products such as operations orders and Combined Information Overlays, and synthesizing information for decision briefs. The 10-day MILDEC block of instruction is one of the most extensive in the U.S. Army, and produces students able to conduct this critical activity upon graduation. The course’s capstone event is a course exercise to develop the students' ability to plan, prepare, execute, and assess the integration of IRCs and to adapt tactics, techniques, and procedures throughout Unified Land Operations within a decisive action training environment. The course culminates with an individual, comprehensive examination requiring students to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of IO doctrine and processes. Graduates of this course will have the requisite skills required to be effective IO and MILDEC staff officers.
