DESCRIPTION

The Information Operations Qualification Course (IOQC) Reserve Component (RC) is a 9 month, 3 phase course taught by the 3-124th Information Operations (IO) Battalion, Vermont Army National Guard. Phase 1 is approximately 40 hours of self-paced distance learning. Phase 2 is 28 four hour periods (UTAs) held once per week night for four hours over a secure Defense Connect Online (DCO) connection collaborating with fellow students and instructors. Students can expect a workload similar to an online master’s degree program, including presentations, papers, readings, exercises, and tests. Phase 2 requires a significant time commitment beyond the four hours per week of collaborative online learning. Phase 3 is a 15 day (13 days of instruction plus 2 travel days) resident exercise held at Camp Johnson, VT.


PREREQUISITES

U.S. Army Reserve or Army National Guard commissioned officer; CPT through COL, assigned or pending assignment to a validated Information Operations position. Students must have a current passing APFT and meet height/weight requirements IAW AR 600-9. .


BILLETING

The Course Administrator will secure hotel reservations at the Regional Training Institute (RTI), 789 Vermont National Guard Road, Colchester, VT for enrolled students. After hours commercial internet access is available on a pay for service plan from AAFES. There are physical fitness facilities available for student use at the RTI and on post.
