The Fort Leavenworth Housing office has housing set aside for incoming students. For either session, contact Fort Leavenworth Family Housing in order to meet the deadlines. There will be a drawing to choose a village (post housing is broken down into small communities) based on your needs, and if you check in early, you can decline your village and take whatever is available. This may be a downgrade in the type of unit you were expecting, so you may have a choice to make upon your arrival.
Alternatively, the surrounding communities offer ample opportunities to rent or purchase a home if you desire. Aside from choosing to live on post, or in the immediate surrounding cities of Leavenworth and Lansing, KS, other choices made by Marines include living just across the Missouri River in Platte City, MO, or just south of the Kansas City airport in the Zona Rosa area of northern Kansas City, MO.
Limited BOQ and temporary family quarters are available and can found on the Army Lodging website.
The test scores and graduation rates of Kansas schools consistently place high in national rankings. All three local districts (Fort Leavenworth (on-post), Leavenworth, and Lansing) are comparable in this regard. Follow links below for additional information:
