A Tactical Operations Center is an integral part of a Network Integration Evaluation (NIE). NIEs are held at Fort Bliss, Texas, and White Sands Missile Range, N.M., to evaluate new technologies. Future NIEs were discussed at the Training and Education 2025 and Beyond Industry Forum, which was held on June 18-19 at Fort Eustis, Va. Now the Army is looking for ways to harness technology to make these materials more accessible. A 1st Armored Division Soldier trains on the Aviation Combined Arms Tactical Trainer, at Fort Bliss, Texas. The exercise combined live, virtual and constructive training as part of the Integrated Training Environment. The Integrated Training Environment is evolving to a single synthetic environment that combines constructive, gaming and virtual systems and is coupled with live training. This evolution was a topic at the Training and Education 2025 and Beyond Industry Forum, held June 18-19, 2014, at Fort Eustis, Va. Brig. Gen. Joseph M. Martin said Americans recognize Memorial Day in different ways, and some may not acknowledge it at all. But, he asked those who gathered Monday morning for a ceremony at Leavenworth National Cemetery to stop and think about the people who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country. WASHINGTON — Next month, US Army leaders will sit down with representatives from industry and academia at Fort Eustis, Va., to lay plans for a fully integrated, global virtual training environment, an ambitious project that could vastly streamline and improve how the service prepares its soldiers for their missions. The central idea of this project, currently called the Future Holistic Training Environment – Live Synthetic, is to combine all of the Army’s current virtual training environments into one program that would allow soldiers anywhere in the world to access the same information and connect virtually.
