Lt. Verne Gibb

Brig. Gen. Joseph Martin, Deputy Commanding General-Training, Combined Arms Center, presents the American flag to Veronica Stoneback, daughter of 2nd Lt. Gibb’s C-47 aircraft crashed during a flight from Burma to India, Oct. 24, 1945 and he was classified as missing in action until his remains were discovered in Burma.

Training for Decisive Action: Stories of Mission Command, produced by the U.S. Army’s National Training Center (NTC) Operations Group, presents a collection of 35 personal insights from leaders across various rotational units and from the NTC’s Opposing Force. This new work provides a unique view of how the NTC continues to serve as an engine of change for Army collective training, preserving core competencies while guiding new initiatives in tactical doctrine.

Kansas Agriculture and Rural Leadership Program

Members of the Kansas Agriculture and Rural Leadership program visited Fort Leavenworth and the Command and General Staff College Feb. 13 to learn about the Fort's impact and Army efforts to promote agriculture in Afghanistan. The visitors heard about the Fort's missions and units and had an opportunity to talk with the Deputy to the Commanding General. The program is a two-year course offering intensive study, training and travel for future leaders in agriculture and rural communities. It is headquartered at Kansas State University in Manhattan.
