Department of Command and Leadership (DCL)

The Department of Command and Leadership is one of six teaching departments of the Command and General Staff School of the Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth Kansas.

Prepare Field Grade officers to lead and command organizations and serve as a source of leadership expertise within the military.

Fox Conner Chair, Dr. Thomas Bradbeer

Dr. Bradbeer serves in the Department of Command and Leadership as an associate professor of leadership. He is highly respected for his expertise and experience in the areas of direct and organizational leadership, his exemplary service to the Command and General Staff College, and his representation of CGSC as a contributor to several local, national, and international leadership organizations. He is recognized for his outstanding research and study of U.S. military history, through the lens of combat leadership and mission command.
