2017 Captains Solarium

Lt. Gen. Michael D. Lundy, Commanding General, U.S. Army Combined Arms Center and Fort Leavenworth, Kan., gave the opening addressed the participants in this year's Captains Solarium, an Army Chief of Staff (CSA) initiative, an effort to inform and shape the future direction of the U.S. Army. The week-long event began on Monday, Oct. 16, at the Lewis and Clark Center, Fort Leavenworth. This project brings together senior captains from across the Army - active, reserve and National Guard - to Fort Leavenworth. The captains identify strategic issues that affect the Army of the future in the areas of talent management, vision and branding, mission command, culture, training, and education. They analyze these areas, identify the issues and directly provide the recommended solutions to the CSA. (U.S. Army photo, Dan Neal)
