Rear Adm. Carsten Stawitzki, Commandant of the German Joint Command and Staff College, met with Maj. Gen. John S. Kem, Provost of the Army University and Deputy Commandant of the Command and General Staff College, and toured CGSC at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, July 20. Stawitzki was briefed on the Command and General Staff Officers Course and the School of Advanced Military Studies. He also observed a virtual staff ride at the Army University Press, and met with German staff and students during his visit to Fort Leavenworth. The CGSC visit was part of a larger visit to several Department of Defense Schools, including National Defense University, Naval War College, and the Air Force Staff College in order to learn and share tactics, techniques and procedures (TTPs) and best practices of military education.
