Incoming SEAL and EOD officers should expect to be enrolled in the Special Operations Forces Track. Combat Support and Combat Service Support officers from all Naval service branches with SOF experience or a follow on SOF assignment are encouraged to enroll in the SOF track with the approval of their directorate or service element.
The SOF core curriculum instruction is considered essential for all officers enrolled in the SOF track. The graduate of the SOF Track possesses a warrior ethos and warfighting focus that enables them to lead competently and confidently on SOF, Joint, Service, Interagency, and Multinational teams, as well as throughout the full spectrum of military operations. The instruction is divided into four separate tracks: Special Forces, SOF Air, PSYOP, Civil Affairs.
In addition to the mandatory SOF core and advanced curriculums, CGSOC requires that each officer enroll in eight AAP elective courses.
All SOF track officers are required to enroll in A572, SOF Guest Speaker Program. Additionally, one of the remaining AAPs must be a regional study. A576 is a SOF Regional Studies AAP not required for SOF track officers, but fulfills the regional study requirement. SOF track officers must complete additional AAP courses to fulfill graduation requirements.
Officers enrolled in the college’s Military Master of Arts and Science (MMAS) program are required to enroll in three MMAS research related AAP courses conducted over the entire academic year.
