Follow Wounded Warrior Kortney Clemons As He Competes in the 2011 Paralympics

Sgt. (Ret.) Kortney Clemons, Army Wounded Warrior and Paralympics Athlete has an amazing story. After a debilitating leg injury suffered during his tour in the Iraq War, Kortney found that he could inspire people more with one leg than he could with two.

Kortney Clemons

Kortney was selected to participate in the Army Wounded Warrior Education Initiative (AW2EI), which brought him from Southern California to Lawrence, Kansas, to attend the University of Kansas to work towards his master’s degree.

Fortunately, he was able to link up with the KU Track & Field team and continue his training for Paralympic gold.

His trip to the 2011 Paralympics in New Zealand and his run for the gold will be chronicled here!!

Check back for updates from Kortney here and at the AW2EI Facebook site
