General Sir Richard Dannatt, United Kingdom Chief of the General Staff, addressed students, staff and faculty at the Command and General Staff College March 12 at the Lewis and Clark Center.
His remarks focused on the strategic context of the current wars from the U.K. perspective and current operations for U.K. military forces. Dannatt discussed resetting for the future, transitioning the U.K. army from major combat operations and “high intensity” conflict to a more “hybrid” form of warfare. He also noted two of his priorities are putting Soldiers first and sustaining the force.
