Definition/Scope: (JP 1-02). Integrated systems of doctrine, procedures, organizational structures, personnel, equipment, facilities, and communications designed to support a commander's exercise of command and control, through all phases of the operational continuum. (FM 101-5-1). Provides the means for the commander to communicate his intent, command and control his forces, and disseminate pertinent information throughout his area of operations.
