AV-8 Harrier

Definition/Scope: A single-engine, vectored thrust, turbojet, vertical and/or short takeoff and landing light attack aircraft, designed to operate from land bases and naval vessels in a close air support role. Capable of carrying a variety of conventional and/or nuclear weapons. It is primarily used for light attack or multi-role tasks, typically operated from small aircraft carriers and large amphibious ship.
