Coastal Battlefield Reconnaissance and Analysis

Definition/Scope: The Coastal Battlefield Reconnaissance and Analysis (COBRA) system, which includes a multispectral payload flown on a tactical unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), will provide amphibious forces with accurate battlefield intelligence depicting tactical objectives, minefields, obstacles and fortifications on the beach and inland areas. (NG) COBRA is an advanced sensor designed to support US Marine Corps (USMC) amphibious assault breaching operations. COBRA is a designated mission system integrated on the MQ-8B Fire Scout Vertical Takeoff Unmanned Air Vehicle (VTUAV) as part of the Mine Warfare Mission Package onboard the Littoral Combat Ship (LCS).
