Institutional training domain
Definition/Scope: (AR 350-1) The institutional domain support Soldiers, Army civilians, and leaders throughout their careers and supports units on a continuous basis. The institution is a key enabler for unit readiness, providing initial military training, subsequent professional military education and civilian education and direct support to units for functional training through mobile training teams (MTTs) or other means. The institutional training domain takes lessons-learned from the operational training domain and updates doctrine and tactics, techniques and procedures and then disseminates this information back to the field and to individuals (ADP 7-0) The institutional training domain is the Army?s institutional training and education system, which primarily includes training base centers and schools that provide initial training and subsequent professional military education for Soldiers, military leaders, and Army civilians. This domain includes the centers of excellence and schools, both inside and outside the U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command.
