South West Pacific Area
Definition/Scope: The term South West Pacific Area was used during World War II to describe an area patrolled by American naval and air units. The general area is all of Australia, New Guinea, Philippines, Borneo, Dutch East Indies and part of the Solomon Islands. It was previously known as the American-British-Dutch-Australian (ABDA) Command.
