Counter Terrorism Command

Definition/Scope: There are many examples of a counter terrorism command (CTC). Perhaps one of the better-known units is the Metropolitan Police Service counter terrorism command. It is also known by the acronym of SO15. They gather and exploit intelligence in the terrorism arena in order to detect and then, hopefully, prevent acts of terror. There is also a CTC within Iraq that falls under the Counter Terrorism Bureau (CTB). This CTC is the Headquarters command staff for the Iraqi Army Special Operations Forces.
