BTR-60 armored personnel carrier

Definition/Scope: The BTR - 60 is a Russian eight wheeled armored personnel carrier. It was the first of several variations that Russia experimented with. It was capable of transporting 16 soldiers. While the carrier had a roof over the crew compartment there was nothing overhead protecting the troop portion. BTR is translated into "armored transporter".
