Care Under Fire
Definition/Scope: (ATTP 4-02) In the care under fire phase, combat medical personnel and their units are under effective hostile fire and are very limited in the care they can provide. In essence, only those life-saving interventions that must be performed immediately are undertaken during this phase. Care rendered while the media/aidman (first responder) and the casualty are still under effective enemy fire. Avaiable equipment is limited to what is carried in the medical pack.
