Light Attack Helicopter

Definition/Scope: The term Light Attack Helicopter is used to denote a class of helicopters that are able to perform a dual role. Some of the current helicopters in that class are the HH/UH-1N (Huey series), UH-1Y, AH-1W (Cobra series), AH-1z. The roles that can be performed range from command and control, close air support, search and rescue, and fire support missions.
