Antiterrorism/Force Protection

Definition/Scope: (FM 3-19.4) Antiterrorism/Force Protection was a term that incorporated the protective measures used to conduct antiterrorism and force protection measures. They have been separated into two separate meanings, antiterrorism and force protection. See AR 525-13 (as of Sep 2010) for more information. JP 3-07.2 states that force protection should not be synonymous with antiterrorsim or other supporting tasks. Force protection is an end state objective with antiterrorism as a sub-element of force protection.
