Sons of Iraq

Definition/Scope: The Sons of Iraq (SoI) were a Iraqi policing program. The SoI were basically militias that were hired by the US to assist the Army in manning neighborhood watch point and check points. Because they were from the local area they were most helpful in capturing local insurgents and slowly eliminating local homicides and locating caches.
