Operation Iron Promise

Definition/Scope: Operation Iron Promise was an operation conducted by A/2-1CD which was part of TF 1st AD. It consisted of targeting known enemy locations and aggressively carrying out cordon-and-search operations looking for insurgents, former regime sympathizers and foreign fighters. This operation was conducted in March of 2004 and lasted until approx. November of 2004.
