19th Special Forces Group (Airborne)
Definition/Scope: The 19th SFG(A) is geographically spread across eight States (UT, WA, WV, OH, RI, CO, CA, TX). The Group Headquarters Company, the Group Support Company, and 1st Battalion (-) are located in Utah. The 19th Special Forces Group has a twofold mission: a federal mission to provide trained soldiers and units to designated commands to conduct special operations in support of a federal mobilization; and, a state mission to support state and local agencies in the event of a natural or man-made disaster. The 19th SFG has responsibility over Southeast Asia (shared with 5th SFG), as well as the Pacific (shared with 1st SFG). The 19th SFG (ABN) was first activated on 01 May 1961.
