RQ-7 Shadow
Definition/Scope: The RQ-7 Shadow unmanned aircraft system is currently being used by the US Army and Marine Corps. It is launched from a rail system and recovered with a system of arresting hook and wire gear. It has a gimbaled-mounted, digitally-stabilized, liquid nitrogen-cooled electro-optical/infrared camera that relays video in real time. It has been known as the Shadow 200 UAS. The RQ-7 Shadow replaced the RQ-6 Outrider and the RQ-5 Hunter.
