ground intelligence

Definition/Scope: Ground intelligence is that form of intelligence gathered directly from the battlefield. The intelligence could be gathered by remote sensors or ground forces. If conducted by sensors that information could be relayed back to a terminal or downloaded by a user at the site. If conducted by ground forces units such as listening post’s or observation posts would be crucial in the gathering of that intelligence.
