Space Modeling and Simulation
Definition/Scope: The Space Modeling and Simulation Division is a subunit of the Decision Support Directorate out of the Future Warfare Center from the Space Missile Defense Command stationed at Redstone Arsenal. The Future Warfare Center (FWC) has operations in Huntsville, Ala.; Colorado Springs, Colo.; and Ft Monroe, Va. FWC designs, develops, and evaluates innovative concepts and capabilities falling within the U.S. Strategic Command's (STRATCOM) mission areas. FWC integrates these concepts and capabilities into joint and Army architectures; validates science and technology priorities; leads experimentation, synchronization, and integration of U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command/U.S. Army Forces Strategic Command (SMDC/ARSTRAT) mission area capabilities with joint, interagency, and multinational capabilities; and serves as the SMDC/ARSTRAT lead for space and ground-based midcourse defense proponency.
