Weapons Control Computer

Definition/Scope: (ACCP 0699 #4) The weapons control computer, WCC, is part of the Patriot launching system. Once a target has been identified as hostile by the engagement control station, ECS, the WCC will decide which launcher will engage the target. Once the selected launcher is activated, data is exchanged between the missile and WCC. Once data link is complete, the missile is launched and controlled by radar to the vicinity of the target. As the missile approaches the area, the proximity fuse is activated.
