response force
Definition/Scope: (FM 1-02) A mobile force with appropriate fire support designated, usually by the area commander, to deal with Level II threats in the rear area. In most instances, it is normally Military Police or Infantry that are used to perform response force duties. See also quick reaction force or immediate response force for more information.
