3rd Marine Aircraft Wing

Definition/Scope: The 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing is located at Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Miramar, CA. It is the aviation combat element for the I Marine Expeditionary Force, I MEF. The 3D Marine Aircraft Wing's mission is to provide combat ready expeditionary aviation forces capable of short notice world wide deployment to Marine Air Ground Task Force (MAGTF), fleet and unified commanders. Some of its subordinate units include the MAG 11, MAG 13, MAG 16, MAG 39 and MACG 38.
