Firepower Control Team
Definition/Scope: An element of the Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company (ANGLICO) responsible for requesting, coordinating, and controlling naval air and naval gunfire. The ANGLICO liaison officer becomes part of the squadron fire support element and FCTs locate with the troops. When an FCT cannot call a fire mission, a troop FIST may do so through the liaison officer. Most FCTs are also qualified Joint Terminal Attack Controller, which means that they are qualified to control aircraft engaged in close air support.
