Brigade Detainee Internment Facilities
Definition/Scope: At the BDIF, the detainee will receive additional in processing which includes: Medical screening; Initial screening by a medical care provider immediately upon induction; A medical exam by a licensed independent health provider within 24 hours; Medications prescribed as needed; Referrals for inpatient or special outpatient care made as warranted; Everything is documented; Weight and health management; Detainees are weighed at in-processing and then at various stages throughout their detention; Many detainees actually gain weight at detention facilities and receive medical treatment that they would not otherwise be able to receive Immunizations are given as needed; Biometrics enrollment information collected; Detainees are issued a Qur'an and a prayer rug.
