Definition/Scope: Missions: Provides support and services to theater ARFOR commands, as well as directed Army support to other services: Conducts Theater Security Cooperation activities: Provides a forward-based, service component command to plan, and on order, conduct land operations across the USCENTCOM area of responsibility: Supports force rotations, conducts reception, staging and onward movement, provides theater sustainment and other support as required to forces in Iraq, Afghanistan and the Horn of Africa. U.S. ARMY CENTRAL is the Army Service Component Command of Central Command and supports ground operations throughout the 27 Nations in the AOR, which stretches from Kenya to Kazakhstan. U.S. ARMY CENTRAL provides Title 10 support and services to theater ARFOR commands, as well as directed Army support to other services (ASOS). Title 10 of the US Code mandates how the Army is manned, trained and equipped. USARCENT is not to be confused with USCENTCOM which is a Unified Combatant Command.
