Near Term prepositioning Force

Definition/Scope: The NTPF was a program that was dedicated to the Southwest Asia area in support of CENTCOM. The NTPF was the portion of the program that supplied the actual supplies to the Rapid Deployment Joint Task Force, RDJTF, the precursor to the Maritime Prepositioning Force, MPF.. Once the first squadron of ships was complete the NTPF became a reality as the Maritime Prepositioning Squadron, MPS.
